1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce Race Car
Authentic Veloce, Fantastic Documentation, Extensive SCCA and VSCCA Race History Since 1970s with Logbooks and Over $30,000 in Maintenance Records, Restored and Prepared by Alfa Guru Al Leake
This lovely White and Blue 1959 Giulietta Veloce race car was specifically built for vintage racing by well known Californian Alfisti Al Leake. Leake restored and built the car to racing specs for the car's owner, who has had it for over twenty years. During his enthusiastic ownership it has always been well maintained and cared for. We have maintenance records going back 20 years that show well over $30,000 in maintenance, repairs and upgrades. The car is an authentic Veloce, making it one of only 368 factory produced Veloces that year. In addition, 1959 was the last year for the desirable short wheelbase, small taillight 750 series.
The car is currently equipped with a race-built 1300cc Giulietta motor. The build consists of lightweight Wiesco pistons, Carillo rods, 10/10 nitrided and drilled crank, megacycle cams, high efficiency radiator, Oberg filter and large oil cooler. The oil and water run cool even on 100 degree days and oil pressure is always rock steady at 75 psi.
The car has been campaigned in SCCA and VSCCA racing since the 1970s with logbooks and pictures.
Recent upgrades include circle track springs and adjustable rear perches for ease of tuning. The car currently runs a locked 5.12 diff with a 5 Speed transmission. We are told it will run Limerock 1.09s and Mosport 1.50s. Blue powdercoated wheels as shown, as well as a set of white wheels with Hoosiers accompany the car. Also included is a quiet (installed) and straight exhaust, a custom-made tonneau and car cover. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a beautiful and fast Giulietta Veloce with extensive history and documentation, that has been well prepared for racing by Alfa experts. The car comes with logbooks, all receipts and articles written about the car.
