1972 BMW 3.0CS
Restored by The Werk Shop, Immaculately Done, Wonderful to Drive
This 1972 BMW 3.0CS is a stunning example and has to be considered one of the finest 3.0CS's in existence, if not the finest. It has been restored by The Werk Shop (well known 3.0CS specialist) essentially to Concours condition. The car comes with all records from the restoration and it has only covered a few thousand miles since then. They did not do a "total" restoration because Don, the proprietor didn't feel it was necessary. When we read about what a total restoration entails (and the cost) relative to what already was done/spent on this "partial" restoration, our head spins. And its hard to even imagine what more could've even been done/spent given what was put into this car. We estimate that to do one like this today would cost over $100K easily.
This is what we were told about the car:
Car was stripped to bare metal and painted; rechromed bumper and window moldings; completely new interior; car has a rebuilt 3.5L engine with triple webers and schrick cam. Brake, clutch and steering work/replacement; new 5-speed; redid electrical system; new glass; stereo system. Many other items were done, including: refinishing or replacement of the weather stripping, wood, window operation, sun roof operation, completely detailed engine bay and trunk areas, suspension, wheels, tires, headliner, cooling system and on and on.
For someone looking for the finest restored 3.0CS, this car will not disappoint. A more fabulous 3.0CS is probably not to be found.
